Pre- and Post-Treatment Information for Laser Tattoo Removal

Pre-Treatment Instructions:
1. Consultation: Schedule a consultation to discuss your tattoo and treatment plan. This includes assessing your skin type and the tattoo's characteristics. Link to book

2. Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure to the treated area for at least two weeks prior to your appointment. Sunburn can affect the effectiveness of the treatment.
3. No Tanning Products: Refrain from using tanning beds or self-tanning products on the area for at least two weeks before the procedure.
4. Medication and Supplements: Inform us of any medications or supplements you're taking, especially blood thinners or skin medications, as these may affect the treatment.
5. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment to keep your skin healthy and hydrated.
6. Shave the Area: If applicable, shave the area around the tattoo the night before your appointment.
Post-Treatment Instructions:
1. Avoid Scratching: Do not scratch or pick at the treated area, as this can lead to scarring or infection.
2. Keep It Clean: Gently clean the area with mild soap and water, and pat it dry. Avoid any harsh cleansers or exfoliants.
3. Moisturize: Apply a recommended ointment or moisturizer to keep the area hydrated and promote healing.
4. Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the treated area out of direct sunlight and apply sunscreen if you must be outdoors.
5. Limit Activities: Avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, and hot tubs for at least 48 hours post-treatment to minimize irritation.
6. Watch for Side Effects: Mild redness, swelling, or blistering may occur. If you experience excessive pain, or signs of infection, contact us immediately.
